What we do
Each time LTA publishes, we pull the latest figures from DataMall, check them against the previous release, and turn them into charts you can read in a few seconds. Registrations, deregistrations, COE premiums, PQP rates, fuel type mix and the vehicle population all sit on one platform.
The raw data is public, but it arrives as spreadsheets with column headers like MonthOfRegistration and no context. We do the joining, the naming and the arithmetic, then show the trend beside the number so you can tell whether this month's premium is high or low.
MotorMetrics is free and open. There is no account to create and nothing behind a paywall. It is an independent project, built and maintained by Ru Chern, a software engineer, alongside a full-time job.
What we track
Six datasets, each with its own history and filters.
New registrations
Monthly car registrations by make, vehicle type and fuel type.
COE premiums
Every bidding exercise across Categories A to E, with quota and bids received.
PQP rates
The prevailing quota premium for renewing a COE, as a 3-month moving average.
Deregistrations
Vehicles taken off the road each month, by category.
Vehicle population
Every vehicle on Singapore roads, split by fuel type and year.
EV adoption
Battery-electric and hybrid share of new registrations, by make and month.
One source, checked at every release
Every figure on this site comes from Singapore's Land Transport Authority via DataMall. We do not estimate, model or fill gaps. When LTA revises a release, we revise with it.
Common questions
Get the numbers when they land
New COE results and registration figures are posted as soon as they publish. Nothing else.
